Active Employees:

  • Health Insurance: Town of Deerfield pays 65%, employee pays 35% of monthly premium
  • Dental Insurance: Employee pays 100% of monthly premium
  • Vision Insurance: Employee pays 100% of monthly premium 
  • Basic $5000 Life Insurance plan through Boston Mutual: Town of Deerfield pays 65%, employee pays 35% of monthly premium

What Will Your Biweekly Deduction Be?

  • Employee's monthly cost x multiply by 12 (for the yearly cost) and divide by number of pay periods throughout the year.
  • Non-School Employees = 26 pays
  • School Employees = 22 pays (Deerfield does not take out deductions over the summer for school employees)
  • Example: HMO Single Plan Employee Cost = $352.45 / month 
  • Non-School Employee = 352.45 x 12 = $4,229.40 / 26 pays = $162.68 / paycheck
  • School Employee = 352.45 x 12 = $4,229.40 / 22 pays = $192.26 / paycheck

Retirees:

  • Health Insurance: Town of Deerfield pays 50%, retiree pays 50% of monthly premium
    • CY2025 Medex Rate per subscriber = $416.00/month
    • CY2026 Medex Rate per subscriber = $495.00/month
